Traverse the Latitude

The 45 North Vineyard Trail is a 3-mile, all seasons, recreational trail through our scenic vineyard that you can explore on skis, by bike, or on foot.

The trail is free to use during business hours and with terrain covering everything from gentle slopes to uphill climbs, there’s something for everyone. The trail starts near the tasting room and wanders through the lower vineyard before starting uphill toward the top vineyard where you’ll be rewarded with views of the entire property and surrounding rolling hills—it’s picturesquely Leelanau. It then winds downward through a wooded portion before returning back to the tasting room. The complete trail is a 3-mile loop with shortcuts along the way if you’re looking for a lighter excursion.

Winter Activities

We groom the trail for cross-country skiing, fat biking, and snowshoeing. Take a leisurely hike around the lower portion or challenge yourself to ski to the top. Stay tuned to our Facebook page for trail conditions and events like the Short’s Brewing Fat Bike Race Series Vineyard Race.

Non-Winter Activities

Take a hike or bring your mountain bike for a serious workout (the trail is IMBA-certified); pedaling to the top of the vineyard will leave you winded and ready for a breezy downhill through the wooded segment. Stay tuned to our Facebook page for information on upcoming events like the 45 Barrel Roll, a dirt criterium style bike race.
